Just curious, has anyone bothered to get Rendell's opinion on this issue?  Even though his term in nearly over, it would be nice to know where he stands.  joint peace

I called his office a few times but they never got back to me. Previously he said he's not opposed to the idea of medical marijuana, so we likely have an ally, or at least someone who's not against it.

Yea Corbett is very anti-marijuana. I've been in contact with the Tom Knox campaign and while his staffers are supportive, Knox himself has no position on the subject yet. Or at least no public position. It's still very early in their campaigns though.

will LEAP be coming to the party ?

Corbett and his goon squads have been busy around the state with simple possession cases and have been putting these people on full public display.  Nothing like an election year.  These cases would normally never see the light of day. There taking dealers and users in one shot and making all these people look like drug king pins

Nothing like more destroyed lives and family’s split apart

HEARING LOCATION FINALIZED: Room 140, Main Capitol, PA Capitol Building.
You beat me too it.
Rep. Mark Cohen

      Medical Marijuana Update (H.B. 1393)

The Health and Human Services Committee of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives will be holding a hearing on H.B. 1393 that would create a legal medical marijuana system within Pennsylvania. The bill is sponsored by Rep. Mark Cohen, D-Phila.

Legislative Hearing on HB 1393 - Medical Marijuana

                            Date:   Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2009

                            Time:  11 a.m.

Place: House Majority Caucus Room (Room 140)

    Main Capitol Building

    Harrisburg, Pa.

The committee has invited experts to testify and expects a full hearing schedule. Although this is a large hearing room by Capitol standards, seating is limited. People may submit written comments on the bill to:

    Hon. Frank Oliver, Chair

    Health and Human Services Committee

    PA House of Representatives

    34 Capitol East Wing

    Harrisburg, Pa. 17120-2195

A copy of the bill can be found at here.

Thank you for your continuing support for this legislation.

"The committee has invited experts to testify"

This is a great question because the law is currently broke as far as I'm concerned.  Look at California right now, they have the Kelly case up in front of the state supreme court over limits.  Case to be decided in the next 60-70 days.

What I'm saying is 6 Plants 1 Oz is not a realistic scenario.

I know everyone is hoping this passes and moves along, I do too, but we need to educate the legislature.

What experts are showing up?
Chris Conrad?
If not, give me some names?

I am gonna show up myself.  I want to testify verbally, not via some letter that might get read by an aid.

I am expert more than 99.9% of PA on this issue.

Put me on this list!

Peace

OK

Sorry for the rant in the last post, but no way to edit, so my humble apologies.

I just read minutes from last meeting and see that plants limits and medicine limits are in ????  GOOD

This is much needed.

See you all Wednesday!

Peace

PS  Hey all!  Lil bit about me.  Schuylkill county native, CA resident currently in PA, Oaksterdam University Class of 2007 Valedictorian, Berkeley's 10 year old dispensary manager, lead dispenser, and budtender 2007-2009.  I don't want to have to be in California to have access to good medicine.  I don't want to go to jail either while in PA!   Let's do this!!!!

I want to thank everyone who will going to speak or as a show of support. I wish I could go but I have a PET/CT scan in Bethlehem that same day to gauge the growth rate of my lymphoma. I submitted my testimony to PA4MMJ. I've also sent my testimony to many legislators here and for the most part have received positive feedback, not form letters either. I just spent a week in Oregon and was very envious of their system of compassionate care. They just opened a place in Portland where if you have your medical marijuana card you can go in , pay $5 and smoke to alleviate what ever symptoms you have. No cops hanging outside just compassion. I can't tell you how much less stressful life is there, knowing that you aren't going to be harrassed by the cops for carrying your medicine. The strains were amazing yet I'm here with my commercial bud, picking seeds and stems, grown by people that don't care or worse. Come on PA!!!!!! These laws are so frustrating.
